Advanced Courses are a part of our advanced track and are intended for those who have already completed the Foundations Course. Members on the path to WPATH GEI SOC7 Certification are required to attend at least one Advanced Course and one Advanced Workshop in order to fulfill their 10 hours in Advanced Coursework.
Each course has limited capacity, so we encourage you to sign up as soon as possible to ensure your spot in the course(s) you wish to attend. Please note that we plan to offer the 2-day Foundations Course and Advanced Course Series again in Spring 2022.
Before registering for your course(s), please note that you must be available to attend the live session date(s) listed above in order to complete the course and receive credit. Please check your calendar before registering, as live attendance is required to complete the course and receive appropriate credit for completion. Refunds are subject to a 6% transaction fee.

Course Descriptions
GEI Online Advanced Medical Course
Live Date: Thursday, December 9, 2021: 12:00PM – 4:00PM ET
The WPATH GEI Online Advanced Medical Course will include two components:
Pre-Recorded Didactic Sessions, which attendees can stream on-demand starting Friday, October 15, 2021.
Live Session is scheduled on Thursday, December 9, 2021: 12:00PM – 4:00PM ET
Attendees must watch all the pre-recorded didactic presentations and attend the live session "in-person" on Thursday, December 9, 2021 to complete the course.
What to Expect: The Advanced Medical course is a full-day (didactic + live) training course that focuses on primary care across the lifespan, advanced hormonal therapy, and an introduction to gender-affirming surgeries and perioperative care. Presentation format includes didactic sessions in the above areas and interactive discussions focusing on primary care, endocrinology, and upper and lower surgery.

GEI Online Advanced Mental Health Course
Live Date: Friday, November 19, 2021: 10:30AM – 2:30PM ET
The WPATH GEI Online Advanced Mental Health Course will include two components:
Pre-Recorded Didactic Sessions, which attendees can stream on-demand starting Friday, October 15, 2021.
Live Session scheduled on Friday, November 19, 2021: 10:30am – 2:30pm ET.
Attendees must watch all the pre-recorded didactic presentations and attend the live session "in-person" on Friday, November 19, 2021 to complete the course.
What to Expect: The Advanced Mental Health is a full-day training that dives into advanced psychotherapy topics across the lifespan, navigating therapy issues like counter transference, children of transgender people, reidentification, autism, trauma, and complicated cases. Presentation format includes didactic and interactive discussion.

GEI Online Advanced Child & Adolescent Workshop
Live Date: Wednesday, December 1, 2021: 12:30PM – 4:30PM ET
The WPATH GEI Online Advanced Child & Adolescent Workshop will include two components:
Pre-Recorded Didactic Sessions, which attendees can stream on-demand starting October 1, 2021.
Live Session scheduled on Wednesday, December 1, 2021: 12:30pm – 4:30pm ET.
Attendees must watch all the pre-recorded didactic presentations and attend the live session "in-person" to complete the course.
What to Expect: The Advanced Child and Adolescent Workshop is an advanced workshop that includes information on assessment, hormones and fertility, sexual health for adolescents, and working with parents and families. Case-based discussions are an integral part of this intensive workshop.

GEI Online Advanced Ethics Workshop
Live Date: Friday, December 3, 2021: 2:00PM – 6:00 PM ET
The WPATH GEI Online Advanced Ethics Workshop will include two components:
Pre-Recorded Didactic Sessions, which attendees can stream on-demand on Friday, October 15, 2021.
Live Session scheduled on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 2:00pm - 6:00pm ET.
Attendees must watch all the pre-recorded didactic presentations and attend the live session "in-person" on Friday, December 3, 2021, to complete the course.
What to Expect: The Advanced Ethics Workshop is an ever-evolving course that includes robust discussion on ethics and moral principles, ethics in surgery and interdisciplinary care, ethics in child & adolescent care, ethical dilemmas, anticipated concerns, and barriers to care. This workshop will involve interdisciplinary panels with interactive discussion.

NEW! GEI Advanced Identity Evolution Workshop
Live Date: Friday, December 10, 2021: 11:00 AM – 2:00PMET
WPATH is excited to present this new Advanced Workshop in Identity Evolution. The Advanced Identity Evolution Workshop will only be presented live on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 11:00am - 2:00pm ET.
Attendees must attend the live session "in-person" on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 11:00am - 2:00pm ET to complete the course.
What to Expect: Transgender/gender diverse (T/GD) healthcare has largely focused on transitioning from one binary to another and has included non-binary identities in more recent years. However, evolving changes in gender identities aside from these more familiar paths have received little attention. WPATH has seen postings on the Member listserv and discussion forum where clinicians are beginning to discuss instances of patients/clients who are “de-transitioning.” WPATH GEI offers this first-ever program on Identity Evolution to enhance care for people who may take steps to de-transition, pause, or resume a gender transition, re-transition and/or take steps to affirm another identity. This program will involve a panel of mental health and medical professionals discussing sample cases and the issues involved. Additionally, ethical considerations and principles will be offered, and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the panelists.
