Dear USPATH Members,
Thank you for all you do for WPATH and your work in transgender health. As a USPATH member, we invite you to apply to review abstract submissions for the USPATH 2023 Scientific Symposium, being held in Westminster (Metro Denver Area), CO, November 1-6, 2023.
As part of the process for fleshing out the schedule for the 2023 program, we have invited submissions (poster, abstract, mini-symposia) in the categories listed below. Once received, we will send out these submissions to a Scientific Review Team that are experts in that field, to score each submission. This is where you come in.
- Aging and End-of-Life Considerations
- Chronic Conditions, including HIV
- Community Engagement
- COVID-19/Pandemic Impacts
- Health Professional Education
- Hormone Therapy – Adult
- Pubertal Suppression/Hormone Therapy – Adolescent
- Engaging Family and Caregivers
- Health Services and Systems
- Intersex/Differences of Sex Development
- Law, Policy, and Ethics
- Mental Health Across the Lifespan
- Nonbinary and Genderqueer Identities
- Non-surgical Body Modifications (e.g., hair removal, binding, tucking)
- Physical Medicine/Physical Therapy
- Primary Care Across the Lifespan/Care for Families
- Reproductive and Sexual Health Sciences
- Research Methods (e.g., CBPR, measurement, epidemiology)
- Social Determinants of Health/Health Equity
- Surgery
- Voice and Communication
Please complete the application form below to participate in the USPATH 2023 Scientific Abstract Review of Submissions.
Members of this committee will help shape the scientific content of the conference, including performing reviews of submitted abstracts, identifying gaps and areas of need, and contributing to the development of invited content.
Participation in this committee is a great way for USPATH members to become more involved. Based on previous years, we anticipate each reviewer will receive around 30 abstracts to review within their selected categories. Scientific Abstract Review Committee members that complete their tasks as requested will be listed in the conference program.
To apply for the USPATH 2023 Scientific Abstract Review Committee, please submit your CV as well as a maximum 200-word summary of your area(s) of expertise, based on the submission categories, and interest in and qualifications for doing this work.
Please submit your application for the USPATH 2023 Scientific Abstract Review Committee by Monday, April 17, 2023 at 11:59pm Eastern Time.

The United States Professional Association for Transgender Health (USPATH) invites the submission of abstracts for Oral and Poster sessions as well as State-of-the-Art Symposia to be considered for presentation at the USPATH 2023 Scientific Symposium (November 1 – 6, 2023). Pre-courses will be held on Wednesday, November 1 and Thursday, November 2, 2023. Opening session will be held at 5:00pm on Thursday, November 2, and the main conference sessions will be held from Friday, November 3 through Monday, November 6, 2023. If you are submitting a surgical abstract, you may be invited to present in the USPATH Surgeon's Only Pre-Course on Wednesday, November 1 - Thursday, November 2, 2023.
With the continued success of the WPATH and USPATH Scientific Symposia, we are thrilled to be able to bring you the USPATH scientific content via both an in-person and a virtual platform that will include plenary sessions, oral abstract sessions, mini symposia, as well as access to the posters. Courses that run concurrently will be recorded and available to watch later. This format will allow attendees to watch live or recorded sessions and receive credit hours for both.
The Steering Committee will work to schedule a program that will offer a great educational experience with a variety of viewing options. Our goal remains the same; to promote evidence-based care, education, research, public policy, and respect in transgender health.
