Dear USPATH Members:

  • Applicants for the Secretary and Member-at-Large positions (application deadline is January 23) to sit on the USPATH Board of Directors.

Please read the announcements below and apply for the positions you are interested in; we are looking forward to a robust response from our membership.

USPATH Election Nominating Committee (3 openings)

The USPATH Board of Directors is excited to announce a Call for Applications for three (3) USPATH Member positions available on the USPATH Election Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee has two main tasks:

  1. Review and ensure that the candidates who apply for positions on the USPATH Board of Directors meet the criteria for these positions prior to being placed on the USPATH Election ballot(s).

  2. Review and update the election process, application, and criteria as necessary in consultation with the USPATH Board of Directors.

The USPATH Nominating Committee will consist of the current USPATH Board of Directors, and the 3 members elected by the membership as a result of this call.

Applicants for the Nominating Committee must be USPATH Full Members in good standing for at least 3 consecutive years (paid dues in 2020, 2021, 2022), cannot be under disciplinary action by a university, hospital, or professional society, and may not run for any position in USPATH Elections through 2023.

If you havn't done so already - renew your WPATH 2022 membership now!

Applicants must be able to commit to this role through the completion of the USPATH 2023 elections (December 2023).

Please note that elected members of this committee will need to attend the USPATH Board Meeting on Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 1:30pm - 3:30pm Eastern Time.

All applicants that meet the criteria above and submit their completed online application form will be placed on the ballot for the 3 positions; the 3 members receiving the largest number of votes will take their seats on the USPATH Election Nominating Committee.

If you know another USPATH member who would be a good fit for this position, please contact them and forward them this announcement to apply. The deadline to apply for the positions is Sunday, January 9, 2022.

USPATH Call for Board Member Applications (2 openings)

At this time, we announce a Call for Applications for the following positions on the USPATH Board of Directors:

  1. 1 Secretary of the USPATH Board position (2-year term through 2023 Elections)

  2. 1 USPATH Board Member-at-Large position (2-year term through 2023 Elections)

Candidates for these positions must be a current Full Member of USPATH for 3 consecutive years (paid member dues in 2020, 2021, and for 2022) and reside in the United States.

If you havn't done so already - renew your WPATH 2022 membership now!

The USPATH Board Secretary is a member of the USPATH Executive Committee. The Secretary will work alongside the executive director and the board committees to ensure that documents are properly maintained and are updated as necessary. They ensure that the Board of Directors’ administrative aspects are in order and clearly presented to the board and membership. They review board minutes as prepared by staff.  Because of our  professional and capable staff, many of these duties will be performed by staff, with the Secretary assuming a consultative role. The secretary of the organization is not a “secretarial” role and is not responsible for duties such as keeping minutes or arranging meetings. The Secretary plays a key role in ensuring the organization is appropriately executing its charges and mission, adhering to bylaws, and participating in the updating of such bylaws as needed, and taking a parliamentarian role during meetings and proceedings.

Please note that USPATH Board Meetings occur on the second Thursday of the month, from 1:30pm – 3:30pm ET.

If you are elected to one of the positions you apply for you will need to attend your first board meeting on Thursday, April 14, 2021, from 1:30pm – 3:30pm ET.

The deadline for board member applications is Sunday, January 23, 2022. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Applications will be reviewed by the USPATH Board and the newly formed Election Nominating Committee. All applicants that meet the criteria stated will be placed on the ballot.

Voting for the Secretary and member-at-large board positions will occur with an online ballot to all current USPATH members (Full, Emeritus). The ballot will be released in February 2022.

Members will have two weeks to review the candidates and vote.

The newly elected board members will be notified and announced to the membership shortly after the ballots close. They will begin their positions at the next scheduled Board of Directors meeting, following their notification of election, on April 14, 2021.

We look forward to a robust response to this call for applications.

Kind regards,

Your USPATH Board of Directors
