On behalf of the Board of Directors of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), we want to thank all the outstanding candidates for putting their names forward to run for the Global Board and for their willingness to serve WPATH.

We are pleased to welcome and announce the newly elected WPATH Board Members-at-Large (4-year terms), who will be installed at the Board Meeting on September 30, 2024, at the 28th Scientific Symposium, being held in Lisbon, Portugal.

• Tonia Poteat, PhD (United States)

We are also pleased to welcome and announce the newly elected members of the WPATH Executive Committee (President-Elect, Treasurer, Secretary) who will be installed on September 30, 2024, at the 28th Scientific Symposium, being held in Lisbon, Portugal.

At that meeting, they will join Asa Radix, MD, PhD, MPH – President, and Marci Bowers, MD – Past-President (Immediate), on the Executive Committee:

• Asa Radix, MD, PhD, MPH – President (United States)

President – The President shall be the principal Executive Officer of the Association and shall, in general, supervise and control all of the business and affairs of the Association. They shall preside at all meetings of the members, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors.

• Loren Schechter, MD – President-Elect (United States)

President-Elect – In the absence of the President, or in the event of their inability or refusal to act, the President-Elect, shall perform the duties of the President, and when so acting shall have all the powers of and shall be subject to all the restrictions on the President. The President-Elect shall perform such other duties as from time to time may be assigned to them by the President or Directors. They will automatically assume the Presidency for roughly a two-year term upon completion of their term as President- Elect (as described above).

• Stephen Rosenthal, MD – Treasurer (United States)

Treasurer – The Treasurer shall have general oversight responsibility of the financial matters executed by the Executive Director of the Association. They will, in conjunction with the Executive Director, be responsible for the preparation of the budget and financial reports to the Board of Directors on an annual basis.

• Chris McLachlan, MA – Secretary (South Africa)

Secretary – The Secretary will monitor the activity of Committees, and, in general, perform such other duties as from time to time may be assigned to them by the President or by the Board of Directors.

• Marci Bowers, MD – Past-President - Immediate (United States)

Past-President – When the President’s term expires, they will become the immediate Past-President for a term of roughly two (2) years.

We want to thank the following members of the Board for their service, dedication, and significant volunteer time to WPATH as their terms come to an end on September 30, 2024. We look forward to their continued involvement in WPATH activities.
