Dear Membership,

We are pleased to report that the SOC8 has now been translated into 6 languages, namely Georgian, Korean, Mandarin, Norwegian, Portuguese, and most recently Ukrainian. All translations are available on our website – free of charge and please feel free to disseminate as widely as possible.

The latest translation of the SOC8 in Ukrainian has been completed under extremely difficult circumstances due to the Russo-Ukrainian War. The Ukrainian trans-led Organization "Cohort" works, among other things, in the area of medical advocacy in the context of the interests, rights and opportunities of transgender and gender diverse people in Ukraine. When Cohort heard that the SOC8 was published in September 2022 they decided to translate the entire document into Ukrainian in one of their 2023 projects. In March 2023 the translation of the SOC8 was completed by trans people from Cohort while the Governmental Alliance for Public Health in the Ukraine provided financial support. Throughout 2023, Cohort held 6 medical conferences in various cities in Ukraine, covering 275 doctors and other healthcare decision-makers during which time Cohort familiarized all participants with the content of the SOC8. In November 2023 Cohort printed paper brochures - a smart version and 250 copies of the full version of the SOC8. Since the beginning of this year, Cohort has been distributing these printed versions to health officials, doctors who took part in their training and conferences, and to trans activists and NGO staff. All Cohort´s activities take place on Ukrainian territory and all educational and other activities are led by trans people.
