Els Elaut, PhD

Els Elaut is a clinical psychologist-sexologist VVS and works within the interdisciplinary genderteam (Ghent University Hospital), specialised in transgender health care. Her research focusses on sexual health in transgender and gender diverse individuals. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the European Network for the Investigation of Gender Incongruence (ENIGI Psychology). She coordinates the post-graduate training in Sexology at Ghent University. As a clinical professor she co-teaches the course 'Gender studies and Sexology' at the same university.


Maeghan Ross, PhD

Maeghan Ross is a PhD candidate researching at the VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Their research revolves around the access to, process of, and experience within transgender-related healthcare. As a trained counseling psychologist and mediator, they seeks to help individuals make sense of themselves, their feelings, their life, and their relationships. They are a strong believer that with proper support and guidance, developing a sense of “home” within ones individuality is possible. Their passion and specialty lies within themes related to gender and sexuality—specifically topics and aspects of identification within liminal spaces. They received their BSc degree in Communication: Mediation, Facilitation, and Dialogue from Emerson College in Boston, and their BSc and MSc degrees in Counseling Psychology at Webster University-Leiden in the Netherlands.


Baudewijntje Kreukels, PhD

Baudewijntje Kreukels is full professor at the Department of Medical Psychology and the Center of Expertise on Gender Dysphoria of the Amsterdam University Medical Centers, The Netherlands. Her research focuses on the development of gender identity and gender incongruence, and the evaluation of transgender health care. She was a member of the Board of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health from 2016-2020. In addition, she is a member of the Steering Committees of the European Network for the Investigation of Gender Incongruence (ENIGI). She has ~125 publications in peer-reviewed journals and (co)authored 14 book chapters.
