WPATH is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the following Officer positions and Board Member-at-Large positions on the WPATH Board of Directors.

Board Officer Positions:

• President-Elect (term = 2022-2024; becomes President 2024-2026; becomes Past-President 2026-2028)
• Treasurer (term = 2022-2024)
• Secretary (term = 2022-2024)

Board Member-at-Large Positions:

• 4 Open Positions: Board Member-at-Large (term = 2022-2026)

To nominate another WPATH member as a candidate, you may submit their name, email address, and country of residence to the WPATH office at wpath@PROTECTED. Staff will inform them that they have been nominated, they are then free to decline or apply for an Officer or Board Member-at-Large position.

Self-nominations are accepted and encouraged; simply fill out and submit the Application Form linked below.

Please note that WPATH Board meetings are conducted in English and that meetings are typically scheduled between 8am and 6pm Eastern Time, so an adjustment in your standard schedule may be affected.

All Application Forms must be submitted by Sunday, July 24, 2022 at 11:00pm Eastern Daylight Time (GMT-4). 

Please note that a nomination or a submitted application does not ensure a place on the WPATH 2022 Official Ballot. The WPATH 2022 Election Nominating Committee will vet all applications to ensure that candidates meet all requirements as stated in the criteria, and select Officer/Executive Committee candidates to be placed on the WPATH 2022 Officer Slate. The Nominating Committee will work to ensure that the final ballot/slate for Officer/Executive Committee composition will be as diverse as possible, considering global representation, racial and ethnic diversity, professional (interdisciplinary) diversity, and gender diversity. 

Any eligible Officer/Executive Committee candidates who are not selected for the Officer Slate will be included on the Official Ballot as Board Member-at-Large candidates, unless they indicate otherwise in the Board Application Form below. 

Voting by the WPATH membership to approve the slate and select the Board Member-at-Large positions will take place in August 2022.

Newly-elected Board Officers and Members-at-Large will be installed at a meeting of the full WPATH Board of Directors near or in conjunction with the WPATH 27th Scientific Symposium, being held live in Montreal, Canada from September 16 - 20, 2022. The Board meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, following the conclusion of scientific sessions.

Applications Now Open for WPATH 2022 Election Nominating Committee

The WPATH Board of Directors is still looking for applications for the three (3) WPATH Member-at-Large positions available on the WPATH 2022 Election Nominating Committee. 

The WPATH 2022 Election Nominating Committee has two main tasks:

1. Select the President-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer candidates who will appear on the ballot for the WPATH 2022 Election.
2. Ensure that the candidates who are nominated for Board Member-at-Large positions on the WPATH Board of Directors fulfill the criteria for these positions prior to being placed on the WPATH 2022 Election ballot.

As previously done in the WPATH 2020 Election, the 2022 Nominating Committee will consist of the following members:

• Immediate Past President (Chair): Vin Tangpricha, MD
• Additional Past President (to be selected by anonymous BOD vote)
• 2 Current BOD Members (to be selected by anonymous BOD vote)
• 3 Additional Full WPATH Members-at-Large (selected by Membership vote)

Applicants for the Nominating Committee must be WPATH members in good standing for at least 5 consecutive years (paid member dues in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022), cannot be under disciplinary action by a university, hospital, or professional society, and may not run for any position in the WPATH 2022 Election.

To nominate another WPATH member for the 2022 Nominating Committee, please email wpath@PROTECTED with your nomination and a letter of recommendation and, if eligible, they will be contacted by WPATH staff to complete the online application form.

If you are interested in applying, you must arrange to have another WPATH member submit a letter of recommendation on your behalf via email to wpath@PROTECTED in addition to completing the online application form.

All applicants that meet the criteria above and submit their online application form and letter of recommendation by the deadline, will be placed on the ballot for the 3 Member-at-Large positions on the WPATH 2022 Election Nominating Committee; the 3 members receiving the largest number of votes will take their seats on the Nominating Committee.

All Nominating Committee applications must be submitted by Sunday, July 17, 2022 at 11:00pm Eastern Daylight Time (GMT-4).
