On behalf of the Board of Directors of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), we want to thank all the outstanding candidates for putting their names forward to run for the Global Board and for their willingness to serve WPATH.

The affairs of WPATH shall be managed by its Board of Directors, who will be elected by the membership. The Executive Committee composed of the Association Officers and Executive Director may meet to conduct the routine business of the Association when the Association and the Board of Directors are not meeting as a whole. The Executive Director serves as an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee. Substantive business, such as any major restructuring or dissolution of the Association, as decided by the Board of Directors, will be brought for a vote of the entire Board of Directors or the entire Association, as appropriate. Decisions affecting any particular geographic region in which a Regional Affiliate Organization is constituted shall not be made by the Directors without participation in the decision by the Regional Affiliate’s elected or appointed Director.

We are pleased to welcome and announce the newly elected members of the WPATH Executive Committee (President-Elect, Treasurer, Secretary) who will be installed at the 26^th Scientific Symposium. At that meeting, they will join Walter Bouman, President, and Vin Tangpricha, Past-President (Immediate), on the Executive Committee:

• Walter Bouman, MD, PhD – President

President – The President shall be the principal Executive Officer of the Association and shall, in general, supervise and control all of the business and affairs of the Association. They shall preside at all meetings of the members, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors.

• Marci Bowers, MD – President-Elect

President-Elect – In the absence of the President, or in the event of their inability or refusal to act, the President-Elect, shall perform the duties of the President, and when so acting shall have all the powers of and shall be subject to all the restrictions on the President. The President-Elect shall perform such other duties as from time to time may be assigned to them by the President or Directors. They will automatically assume the Presidency for roughly a two-year term upon completion of their term as President- Elect (as described above).

• Loren Schechter, MD – Treasurer

Treasurer – The Treasurer shall have general oversight responsibility of the financial matters executed by the Executive Director of the Association. They will, in conjunction with the Executive Director, be responsible for the preparation of the budget and financial reports to the Board of Directors on an annual basis.

Secretary – The Secretary will monitor the activity of Committees, and, in general, perform such other duties as from time to time may be assigned to them by the President or by the Board of Directors.

Past-President – When the President’s term expires, they will become the immediate Past-President for a term of roughly two (2) years.
