Dear WPATH members:

On behalf of the WPATH Student Initiative and the Board of Directors, we want to thank all the outstanding candidates for putting their names forward to run for WPATH Student Initiative (WSI) Vice Co-Chair & Student Representative to the BOD Elect and for their willingness to serve WPATH. Please note, only student members were allowed to vote in this election.

We are pleased to announce the results of the recently-conducted election for Student Representative:

• Penelope Strauss, is a PhD student (Population and Global Health) based in Perth, Australia at the University of Western Australia. She has been elected to serve as the WPATH Student Initiative Vice Co-Chair & Student Representative to the BOD Elect.

Penelope is currently serving in an appointed position as Interim Student Vice Co-Chair of the WSI. During the first year of her elected term (beginning November 6, 2018), Penelope will serve as WSI Vice Co-Chair & Student Representative Elect. After roughly one year, Penelope will take on the role of WSI Co-Chair & Student Representative, with her term ending at the conclusion of the 26^th WPATH Biennial Symposium in 2020.
