We are seeking applications for a Community Organization Member to serve on the Board of Directors of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). This position is designated for a representative from a community organization to contribute to our mission to promote evidence-based care, education, research, public policy, and respect in transgender health.
The term for this position is four years, beginning March 1, 2025.
As an organization that leads the way in promoting high-quality, evidence-based care and comprehensive support for transgender and gender-diverse individuals, WPATH is committed to advancing the standards of care, enhancing educational opportunities, and advocating for public policies that foster respect, inclusivity, and equality. The WPATH Board of Directors plays a crucial role in shaping the future of transgender health, with a focus on promoting the well-being of transgender people worldwide.
The position of Community Organization Representative is a vital part of our board, as it brings perspectives from grassroots organizations and community-based initiatives to the strategic decision-making process. Community organizations are often at the forefront of meeting the unique needs of transgender individuals, especially in underrepresented and underserved populations. Your insight and advocacy will help ensure that the work of WPATH is grounded in the realities faced by transgender communities, contributing to the development of more inclusive policies, resources, and programs. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with other professionals and community leaders to create lasting change, while ensuring that the voices of those directly impacted by transgender health care issues are heard at the highest levels of decision-making within WPATH.
Thank you for considering this important role in advancing the rights and health of transgender individuals globally.
