Dear WPATH members,

Many thanks to all of you who participated in our membership survey last year about WPATH committees. Your input has been valuable in shaping our future direction. The WPATH Board agreed to progress the creation of more committees, focusing on core tasks of WPATH’s mission, rather than specific disciplines as we have done in the past. The details of the committees are:

Committees that already exist:

• GEI Steering Group
• Ethics

New committees to create:

• Finance: Monitoring WPATH’s financial situation, fundraising, developing budgets, overseeing the investment fund, and making recommendations to promote our financial stability and growth.
• Fundraising: Developing and implementing strategies to secure financial support for WPATH through fundraising and philanthropic initiative, and cultivating relationships with donors, foundations, and philanthropic organizations.
• Advocacy and Public Outreach: Coordinating WPATH’s actions to identify policy improvements needed, taking advocacy steps to advance our mission and promote transgender health equity, and working with WPATH staff and contractors on positive media of transgender health.
• Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Promoting diversity among WPATH leadership and membership with a strong intersectionality focus.
• International Diversification and Membership Outreach: Supporting, liaising with, and maintaining relationships with PATH organizations (both affiliated and not affiliated with WPATH), supranational organizations (e.g., the WHO), and other organizations that have aligned goals, as well as developing and implementing a membership outreach strategy.
• Research: Promoting and advocating for high-quality research in the field of transgender health.
• Scientific Statements: Providing expert statements on the state of science and areas of consensus on topics of interest to members and the public.

We invite applications for Committee Co-chairs for the new committees we have created. Applicants should be WPATH members in good standing who have relevant experience on the committee topic.

This is a unique opportunity to take on important leadership roles within our association. As a Co-chair, you will have a significant impact on shaping the direction and success of WPATH's initiatives, working alongside dedicated colleagues to advance our mission, drive positive change, and promote excellence in transgender health care internationally. Co-chairs’ tasks will include developing each committee’s aims and objectives and to work with the WPATH Secretary to select members for their committee.
