Dear USPATH Student & Trainee Members,

I am thrilled to share some exciting news with our community. After a comprehensive selection process, Helen Bassett has been appointed as the inaugural Chair of the Student & Trainee Special Interest Group (SIG) at USPATH. This is a significant milestone for USPATH as we continue to expand our support and development opportunities for students and trainees interested in transgender health.

Helen is an MD/MPH student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and has shown remarkable dedication and leadership in transgender health. Her vision for the SIG aligns seamlessly with USPATH’s goals of enhancing networking, mentorship, and professional growth within our community.

As Chair, Helen will lead the efforts to establish and grow the SIG, focusing on creating a robust member network, launching mentorship programs, and facilitating community growth. Her role also includes participation in key USPATH events, such as the USPATH Scientific Symposium, where she will further shape the future of transgender health education.

We are confident that Helen’s contributions will have a lasting impact on our community, and we look forward to the innovative initiatives she will introduce. Please join me in congratulating Helen on her new role and offering her our full support as she undertakes this important responsibility.

Thank you, Helen, for your willingness to lead and inspire us all. We are eager to see the great things you will accomplish as the inaugural Chair of the Student & Trainee SIG.

Please keep an eye out for more information in the coming months on how to become involved in the USPATH Student & Trainee SIG.

Warm regards,

Melissa Bolick, OMS-II
