We are excited to announce that we are bringing the World Professional Association for Transgender Health’s (WPATH) Global Education Institute (GEI) Core Curriculum Courses to Marbella, Spain, April 5-7, 2024, at the Hard Rock Hotel Marbella, presented with generous support from facialteam.
This live GEI program will include the WPATH GEI Foundations Course for all healthcare professionals, as well as the WPATH GEI Advanced Medical Course for medical professionals, and the WPATH GEI Advanced Mental Health Course for mental health professionals. Attendees will be eligible to claim CEUs for attending this course, and English-Spanish translation services will be available.

- April 7, 2024: GEI Advanced Medical Course + GEI Advanced Mental Health Course

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS & SCHEDULE
The WPATH GEI Foundations Course is intended for healthcare professionals of all experience levels and specialties, this is a two-day training course that focuses on the importance of an interdisciplinary care team approach and cross-specialty foundational knowledge. It includes what all providers should know about gender development, mental health considerations, policy and ethical issues, primary care and preventative health, puberty blockers and hormonal treatment, surgical overviews and much more, with the implementation of the Standards of Care and the Core Competencies.
The WPATH GEI Advanced Medical Course is intended for medical professionals who have previously completed the GEI Foundations Course. The course will focus on advanced hormonal treatment and complications, co-occurring conditions, general health, gender affirming surgeries and perioperative care, ongoing primary care, and aging.
The WPATH GEI Advanced Mental Health Course is intended for mental health professionals who have previously completed the GEI Foundations Course. Topics include – Professionals as People, Complex Co-occurring Conditions, Intersectionality and POC, Gender Diversity and Neurodiversity/Autism, Relationships, and Transitioning on the Job.
COURSE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
We are excited to announce that we are able to offer a limited scholarship fund for this WPATH GEI Course Series in Marbella, Spain, thanks to a generous donation from facialteam. These scholarships are for WPATH Members residing in lower income economy countries (LIEC), Full LIEC Members and Student LIEC Members are eligible to apply.
Scholarships will cover your registration fee for the course, and applicants will have the opportunity to petition for additional funds to attend if needed. Submitting a request is no guarantee of funding.
