WPATH GEI Online Multidisciplinary Voice & Communication Workshop
Pre-recorded Didactic Sessions Available Now
Live Session: Saturday, June 25, 2022: 11am - 12pm Eastern Time.
The WPATH GEI Online Multidisciplinary Voice and Communication Workshop is an introductory workshop open to voice and non-voice clinicians of all experience levels. It provides a detailed overview of gender affirming voice and communication training, including a framework for assessment, training techniques, counseling, and cultural responsiveness considerations. Gender affirming voice care across other disciplines will also be briefly covered: Pitch-raising surgery, testosterone therapy, psychotherapy, music therapy, and singing training. Experts from multiple specialties will give didactic presentations and interact via a panel discussion.
Attendees must be available to attend the live session “in-person” via Zoom on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 11:00am – 12:00pm ET to complete the Voice & Communication Workshop. Attendees are required to watch the recorded presentations prior to the live session.
Medical and Mental Health CEs are available for this GEI Workshop, and certificates are available for SLPs to submit independently.

WPATH GEI Online Nonbinary Workshop
Pre-recorded Didactic Sessions Available Early July
Live Session: Saturday, July 16, 2022: 11am - 1pm Eastern Time.
The WPATH GEI Online Nonbinary Workshop is a 3.5 hour training addressing the provision of care for nonbinary people. This workshop will address population estimates and trends, hormone prescription and individually customized surgical options for nonbinary patients, identity and social transition in nonbinary youth, the creation of affirmative referral pathways for nonbinary primary care patients, and navigating a nonbinary identity in a country with poor access to health care. The panel will include child/adolescent and adult psychologists, a pediatric endocrinologist, a plastic surgeon and a family physician. The presenters will offer individual presentations and will discuss several case studies as a live panel.
Attendees must be available to attend the live session "in-person" via Zoom on Friday, July 16, 2022 from 11:00am - 1:00pm EDT, and complete all required pre-recorded didactic sessions, in order to complete the WPATH GEI Online Nonbinary Workshop.

WPATH GEI Online Neurodiversity Workshop

Live Session: Friday, July 22, 2022: 8am - 12pm Eastern Time.
The WPATH GEI Online Neurodiversity Workshop is a half-day training on the intersection of neurodivergence (especially autism) and gender diversity. This workshop provides a toolkit of approaches for supporting autistic/neurodivergent gender-diverse individuals including in the areas of communication/self-advocacy, executive function/goal setting, and gender discernment/affirmation. The session will emphasize strengths-based approaches and address issues related to obtaining autism and related diagnoses, prioritizing clinical supports, and establishing multidisciplinary care teams. Topics related to intersectional identities, including around neurodiversity, gender diversity, and race, will be explored.
Attendees must be available to attend the live session "in-person" via Zoom on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 8:00am - 12:00pm EDT, and complete all required pre-recorded didactic sessions, in order to complete the WPATH GEI Online Neurodiversity Workshop.

WPATH GEI Online Sexuality Workshop
Pre-recorded Didactic Sessions Available Early July
Live Session: Friday, July 29, 2022: 11am - 3pm Eastern Time.
The WPATH GEI Online Sexuality Workshop will be led by Dr. Gail Knudson (University of British Columbia). This workshop will include: author highlights from Trans Sex: Clinical Approaches to Trans Sexualities and Erotic Embodiments (Routledge, 2021) featuring content that explores supporting trans erotic embodiments from a pleasure-centered praxis; developmental considerations around sexual health and pleasure - working with TGD children, adolescents, adults, and older adults - and specific generational concerns; ethical principles involved in Sexual Health Service delivery - how the PLISSIT MODEL and ISSWSH Process of Care are applicable to TGD clients in general practice; SOC 8 Sexual Health Chapter Recommendations (assuming release of SOC8 prior to the workshop); possible effects of the hormone therapy and other medications on sexual pleasure; overview of international associations’ position statements and declarations supporting sexuality and sexual health of TGD persons, as well as case studies.
