Dear USPATH Members,

The USPATH Board of Directors is excited to announce a Call for Applications for Committee Members for the following USPATH Committees:

  1. USPATH Clinical Care - Elder Care Subcommittee, chaired by Jude Patton and Dr. Ethan Cicero
  2. USPATH Education Committee, chaired by Dr. Kelly Ducheny
  3. USPATH Research Committee, chaired by Dr. Richard Santucci

In 2021, after releasing a Call for Applications for USPATH Committee Chairs, the USPATH Board of Directors seated the above-listed Committee Chairs and began working on drafting Committee Mission Statements and Objectives. Please review the criteria descriptions for each committee below, and submit your application today!

Applicants for the Committee Member positions must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a USPATH member in good standing
  • Cannot be under disciplinary action by a university, hospital, or professional society
  • Have relevant experience and/or interest in developing experience on the committee topic
 

USPATH Clinical Care - Aging/Elder Care Subcommittee

Chair: Jude Patton, PA; Co-Chair: Ethan Cicero, PhD, RN; USPATH BOD Liaison: Caroline Davidge-Pitts, MB, BCh

Committee Mission: To serve as ambassadors for healthcare needs and end-of-life concerns of elder TGD people, and to keep the USPATH Board of Directors informed about strategic efforts to improve quality of life and healthcare for elder TGD people.

The USPATH Clinical Care - Aging/Elder Care Subcommittee began meeting in August 2021 and is welcoming new members.

 

USPATH Education Committee

Chair: Kelly Ducheny, PsyD; USPATH BOD Liaison: Lisa Griffin, PhD

Committee Mission: To support the educational needs of USPATH members and to deepen profession-wide education in transgender and gender diverse (TGD) affirmative care.

Committee Objectives: a) To advise the USPATH Board of Directors on education initiatives, collaboration opportunities, and long-term educational goals; b) to cultivate TGD community-driven educational offerings to promote health equity and deepen capacity to provide TGD affirmative care across disciplines; c) to provide resources to educators, teachers, and faculty to support and deepen the incorporation of TGD affirmative care and gender identity content in educational offerings; d) to support initiatives to increase the number of TGD undergraduate and graduate students entering professional disciplines represented in USPATH membership, and offer guidance to improve the competence of educational institutions in supporting and nurturing TGD students; e) to collaborate with WPATH to provide high-quality educational offerings, and obtain/maintain US national association continuing education approval for WPATH and USPATH activities.

 

USPATH Research Committee

Chair: Richard Santucci, MD; USPATH BOD Liaison: Jo Olson-Kennedy, MD

Committee Mission: To support research activities of USPATH by creating structures to foster investigation and by facilitating dissemination of new knowledge.

Committee Objectives: a) To develop and lead programs that foster research related to TGD people; b) to collaborate with WPATH, with WPATH’s other chapters, and with other aligned groups to develop research programs and to disseminate new knowledge; c) to assist the USPATH Board of Directors with its biennial Scientific Symposium, via both advisory activities and acceptance of tasks as delegated by the Board.

 

 
 
The USPATH Board has heard loud and clear a desire for increased opportunities for members to become involved in the leadership of the organization. We are hopeful that members in all specialty areas and stages within their training/career will take advantage of this opportunity to assume leadership roles within USPATH.

The USPATH Committee Task Force along with the Committee Chairs will notify all applicants upon their selections of committee members.
