On behalf of the WPATH Global Education Institute, we are happy to partner again with Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) to bring you the Advanced Courses and Workshops, being held virtually and live through December 9, 2021.

IEHP has been generous enough to greatly supplement your registration fee for these accredited courses, attendees only pay $75 for an Advanced Course and Workshop Package, a package includes one Advanced Course (Advanced Medical OR Advanced Mental Health) AND one Advanced Workshop (Child & Adolescent OR Ethics). All courses are accredited for continuing education units (ANCC, ACCME, ACPE, APA, ASWB, ABIM MOC).

You must have already attended the Foundations Course to attend the Advanced Courses and Workshops.

Course Objective: Advanced Courses are a part of our advanced track and are intended for those who have already completed the Foundations Course. Members on the path to WPATH GEI SOC7 Certification are required to attend at least one Advanced Course and one Advanced Workshop in order to fulfill their 10 hours in Advanced Coursework.

Registration & Cost: The cost of attendance for the course is only $75.00 for all IEHP supported attendees. IEHP is subsidizing the balance of the training costs for its providers.

The WPATH GEI Online Advanced Courses and Workshops includes the following components:

1. Pre-Recorded Didactic Sessions, which attendees can stream starting October 15th.

 2. Choose One 4-hour Live Streamed Advanced Course - attendees MUST attend the live session to complete the course; Advanced Medical Live Date is Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 9am - 1pm pacific, OR Advanced Mental Health Live Date is Friday, November 19, 2021 from 730am - 1130am pacific.

AND

3. Choose One 4-hour Live Advanced Workshop (Child & Adolescent Live Date is Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 930am - 130pm pacific OR Ethics Live Date is Friday, December 3, 2021 from 11am - 3pm). 

* Registered attendees will receive the link to access the GEI Advanced Courses and Workshop Platform and begin viewing the Pre-Recorded Didactic Sessions on-demand on October 15th, you will receive the link on October 15, 2021, directly through the meeting platform.

When you receive this link, you will be prompted to set up an Attendee profile that will be visible to all other Course attendees, Speakers, and Staff. The course is setup so that you have time to watch the recorded sessions in advance of attending the live Courses and Workshops, and we encourage you to do so, so that you are well prepared for those interactive sessions.

After your paid registration, you will receive a confirmation email. Please note that you must attend the live portion of the courses selected in order to complete it and receive credit.

All materials for the GEI  Advanced Courses and Workshops including Faculty Bios, Handouts, PDF copy of the SOCv7, and Accreditation information, will be available through the Course Platform. As an attendee benefit, you will have access to the Course Platform and all Course content through April 2022.

This course fulfills the Advanced requirement for members pursuing WPATH GEI SOC7 Certification.

Live Streamed Courses

 Advanced Mental Health Course Live Date: Friday, November 19, 2021: 7:30AM – 11:30AM Pacific Time 

The Advanced Mental Health Course is intended for mental health professionals who have previously completed the GEI Foundations Course. Topics include: Person of the Therapist, Complex Co-occurring Conditions, Intersectionality and POC, Gender Diversity and Neurodiversity/Autism, Relationships, and Transitioning on the Job.

• Advanced Medical Course Live Date: Thursday, December 9, 2021: 9:00AM – 1:00PM Pacific Time
  • This course is intended for medical professionals who have previously completed the GEI Foundations Course and will focus on advanced hormonal treatment and complications, co-occurring conditions, general health, gender affirming surgeries and perioperative care, ongoing primary care, and aging.

Live Streamed Workshops

• Child & Adolescent Advanced Workshop Live Date: Wednesday, December 1, 2021: 9:30AM – 1:30PM Pacific Time
  • The is a full-day training course that focuses on children and adolescents. This course is intended for both medical and mental health professionals. Topics include assessment, controversies and challenges, affirmative interventions, neurodiversity, sexual health, and fertility.
     
• Ethics Advanced Workshop Live Date: Friday, December 3, 2021: 11:00AM – 3:00 PM Pacific Time
  • A mix of didactic lectures led by senior WPATH clinicians, legal scholars, and bioethicists, will be followed by stimulating, robust, small group case discussions. This course is intended for both medical and mental health professionals. Topics include: Child & Adolescent Ethics, and Surgical & Interdisciplinary Care Ethics.

Attendees will have access to watch the pre-recorded didactic sessions beginning October 15th.
