Extended Deadline for Applications - WPATH 2020 Election Nominating Committee Member-at-Large Positions - Apply Now

Dear WPATH Members:

In consideration of the global upheaval regarding COVID-19, the WPATH Board of Directors has decided to extend the Call for Applications for the three (3) WPATH Member-at-Large positions available on the WPATH 2020 Election Nominating Committee. Anyone who has already applied does not need to reapply.

The Nominating Committee has two main tasks:

1. Review the applications submitted for the Executive Committee (President-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer) and present the proposed slate to the Board of Directors for final approval for the WPATH 2020 Election to be voted on by the full voting membership.
2. Review the applications submitted for the Member-at-Large Board positions to ensure that all criteria are met. All eligible candidates will be placed on the ballot for the WPATH 2020 Election to be voted on by the full voting membership.

As a reminder, the WPATH 2020 Nominating Committee will consist of the following members:

• Immediate Past President (Chair): Gail Knudson, MD, FRCP, MEd
• Additional Past President (selected by anonymous BOD vote): Jamison Green, PhD
• 2 Current BOD Members (selected by anonymous BOD vote): Walter Bouman, MD, PhD and Tone Maria Hansen, MSN
• 3 Additional Full WPATH Members-at-Large (selected by Membership vote)

Applicants for the Nominating Committee must:

• be WPATH members in good standing for at least 5 consecutive years
• cannot be under disciplinary action by a university, hospital or professional society, and
• may not run for any position in the WPATH 2020 Election.

If you are interested in applying for a Nominating Committee position, please (1) complete the online application form and (2) ask another WPATH member to submit a letter of recommendation on your behalf via email to wpath@PROTECTED by Sunday, April 12, 2020 at 5:00pm Eastern Time.

If you would like to nominate another WPATH member to be on the Nominating Committee, please (1) email wpath@PROTECTED with your letter of recommendation on their behalf as soon as possible so that WPATH staff can contact them to (2) complete the online application form by the deadline if they are interested in applying.

All applicants that meet the criteria above and apply by the deadline will be placed on the Nominating Committee Member ballot for the full voting membership to select. The 3 applicants that receive the largest number of votes by the membership will fill those positions on the WPATH 2020 Election Nominating Committee.

The new deadline to apply for the Member-at-Large positions is Sunday, April 12, 2020 at 5:00pm Eastern Time.
