Bright Moments Punctuate Political Pall
WPATH member George Brown, MD was honored earlier this month at the Southern Transgender Health and Wellness Conference in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Dr. Brown, who received the Harry Benjamin Lifetime Scientific Achievement Award from WPATH at the Association's Buenos Aires symposium last fall, was also honored here at home for his heroic dedication to the population of transgender people in the Southern region of the US, where his work with the Veterans Administration has impacted countless individuals and families. Congratulations, George!
Positive stories this time include those about Dr. Pierre Brassard (Montreal, CAN), transgender workers including Dr. Jamison Green, and United Airlines offering non-binary gender identification when booking flights. In spite of opposition and misinformation, forward momentum continues, as more and more people become aware of transgender people. |
