Beachside’s Downward Directionals Deliver Pools of Light
with Dark Sky-Certified Option

Downward-oriented directional lighting allows the creation of pools of light on the ground, providing safety and security. The angled glare shield of the Beachside model # L-011 helps hide the source, adding some mystery as to where the light originates. When combined with uplighting these palm trees just a few meters from the ocean, a dramatic overall effect is created.

Downward directionals can also be used for architectural applications. The L-011-CM1 (and its dual head version) help illuminate areas around structures. For instances where Dark Sky compliance is needed, our model L-011-30-BGS-SA features the glare shield as standard, as well as a knuckle limited to just 30 degrees from vertical.

Beachside Lighting was started in Hawai'i in 1994 with the intent of building a reputable line of quality exterior lighting fixtures. This came as a result of wondering why so many ocean side estates on Honolulu's prestigious Kahala Avenue had landscape lighting that was literally falling apart. The answer was in the materials used: plastic, powder-coated aluminum, and even steel. It was no secret that copper and various brass alloys had proved themselves for centuries in near ocean environments. Thus, an exclusively copper and brass line of landscape fixtures was born.
