Beachside’s Louvered Brass Steplight: Discreet and Quiet

Beachside Lighting’s E3-SQL is the epitome of a discreet and unobtrusive steplight. At just under 2 ¼” square, the fixture faceplate almost disappears during the day. At night, the precise milling of the louvers produces a glare-free ”quiet” effect, with no light reaching above horizontal for optimal cutoff. At this residence in Hawai’i, the E3-SQL was used in wooden posts adjacent to stairs. It is available in standard 2700K and 3000K CCTs (with ever lower using Color Temperature Orange filters), as well as long wavelength Amber or Red Orange for Turtle / Wildlife Friendly applications.

Beachside Lighting was started in Hawai'i in 1994 with the intent of building a reputable line of quality exterior lighting fixtures. This came as a result of wondering why so many ocean side estates on Honolulu's prestigious Kahala Avenue had landscape lighting that was literally falling apart. The answer was in the materials used: plastic, powder-coated aluminum, and even steel. It was no secret that copper and various brass alloys had proved themselves for centuries in near ocean environments. Thus, an exclusively copper and brass line of landscape fixtures was born.
